Generated explanation

The illustration shows straight barrel mission-style clay roof tiles, with separate curved cover and pan pieces and their nail holes identified. Concave pan tiles form drainage channels, while convex cover tiles bridge the joints between adjacent pans. A perspective view shows successive tiles overlapping along the roof slope. The front view shows the cover tiles supported over upright 1-by-4-inch strips on roof sheathing, with the pans resting between them. A note indicates that tile corners may be either cut or full.
