Generated explanation

The illustration shows five methods of joining sheet metal roofing: double lock standing seam, batten seam, flat-lock seam, common lock seam, and soldered lap seam. The double lock standing seam has raised, folded panel edges and a cleat identified as securing the metal to the roof sheathing. The batten seam incorporates a wood batten between raised metal edges, with a metal cover and securing cleat. A circular detail shows the folded joint and cleat at a flat-lock seam, while separate views show a common lock seam and a soldered overlapping joint. No defects or improper installation conditions are indicated.
