Generated explanation

The illustration shows a cross-section of a ravine lot with a house near the crest and water at the bottom of the slope. A bent tree trunk is identified as a possible indicator of soil slippage, and an arrow at the house advises watching for side-wall cracks caused by soil movement. Vegetation on the slope is shown helping reduce runoff erosion and stabilize the topsoil. Water at the toe of the slope is identified as a potential source of erosion and increased slope instability. A slope triangle indicates a maximum lot slope of one vertical to two horizontal.
