Electric Bulbs for Potlights – Proper Electric Potlights – Proper Bulbs Need Proper Bulbs

Text in the illustration

attic insulation
appropriate flood/spot bulbs direct heat down and away from the recessed light fixture
conventional bulbs create too much heat up inside the fixture

Generated explanation

The illustration compares bulb types in two recessed ceiling light fixtures surrounded by attic insulation. On the left, a flood/spot bulb is marked with a green check, and arrows show heat directed downward and away from the fixture. On the right, a conventional bulb is marked with a red X, with heat arrows extending upward and sideways inside the fixture as well as downward. The comparison identifies excessive heat inside the recessed fixture as the problem with using a conventional bulb.
