Generated explanation

The diagram shows a load miser connected to a fused distribution panel by 8-gauge wire protected by 40-amp fuses. The load miser supplies a stove through an 8 AWG connection and a water heater through 10 AWG wiring and a 30-amp disconnect switch. The annotation explains that the miser cuts power to the non-preferred appliance, such as the water heater, when current through the miser reaches 80% of the upstream fuse rating. A note identifies this arrangement as found only on older systems in some areas.
