Generated explanation

The illustration combines a perspective detail of a monoport gas burner assembly with a cross section of a modern gas furnace. Four burners connect to a common gas manifold, with flames projecting from their outlets and a pilot identified beside the assembly. The furnace cross section shows the burner firing into the heat exchanger, with exhaust gases flowing upward to the vent connector. A forced draft fan supplies combustion air to the burner area, and a separate large blower is shown below the heat exchanger. The annotations identify monoport burners as typically fan assisted and commonly found on newer gas furnaces and conversion gas burners.
