Generated explanation

The cross section shows an oil-fired forced-air furnace with a blower, blower motor, air filters, heat exchanger, refractory lining, and oil burner. Blue arrows trace return air downward through the filters and blower, while red arrows show heated air rising into the hot-air supply duct. The exhaust breech runs horizontally through the cold-air return before turning upward toward a wall connection equipped with a barometric damper. A dashed oval highlights condensation collecting in this horizontal section, where corrosion can rust through the breech. The annotations warn that cracks or holes here readily admit exhaust gases into household air.
