Generated explanation

The illustration shows a hot-water boiler with an exhaust flue, hot-water supply piping, cold-water return piping, and a makeup-water supply connection. A dashed circle identifies the backflow preventer on the water supply line, with an enlarged view showing its orientation between the house water supply and the boiler. In the enlarged view, the device's flow arrow points toward the house water supply, and a red prohibition symbol marks this installation as incorrect. The annotation instructs that the backflow preventer's flow arrow must point toward the boiler.
