Generated explanation

The cutaway diagram shows a tankless domestic water-heating coil installed near the top of a hydronic boiler. Domestic cold water enters the lower end of the finned coil and leaves the upper end as domestic hot water, absorbing heat from the surrounding boiler water without mixing with it. Separate heating-system piping carries hot water upward from the boiler and returns cooler water through a circulating pump. An expansion tank is connected to the hot-water piping above the boiler. The annotations describe the coil as a slide-in option for some boilers and explicitly state that the pressure relief valve is not shown.
