Generated explanation

The illustration shows a manufactured air-conditioning condensate trap with an integral float switch wired to shut down the system when the water level rises too high. A U-shaped trap connects the taller inlet assembly, which carries the float switch and a side access cap, to the lower outlet and condensate drain line. The outlet side includes a capped stub. Annotations specify that the top must be level, the sides plumb, and the outlet lower than the inlet. Two inset diagrams compare correct installation with a reversed installation, warning that a backward trap can allow overflow at the evaporator coil without activating the float switch.
