Generated explanation

The illustration shows several poor locations for a wall-mounted thermostat. One thermostat is beside an open exterior door, while another is on a wall near supply ductwork and above a floor heating/cooling register. A separate example places the thermostat on a wall backing onto an oven, with an annotation also identifying refrigerators and freezers as problematic adjacent appliances. The final example shows a thermostat exposed to direct sunlight entering through a window. These placements expose the thermostat to localized temperature influences rather than representative room conditions.
