Generated explanation

A roof-and-wall cross section shows radiant barriers below the roof sheathing and within the exterior wall assembly. Wavy arrows illustrate radiant heat from the sun and from inside being reflected at the barriers. The wall detail specifies at least 1/2 inch of air space in front of the radiant barrier. Ceiling insulation is shown at the eave, and a label identifies rigid backing or insulation board. Three separate product sketches depict single-sided shiny foil, a double-sided sandwich, and multilayered foil.
