Generated explanation

The illustration shows a cutaway flat roof and room ceiling with several possible signs of added insulation. At the left, insulation fills the spaces between wood framing members, roof vents project above the roof, and plugged holes appear in the ceiling. The middle section shows insulation above the roof framing that adds thickness to the roof assembly. At the right, an added insulation layer below the framing lowers the ceiling. An annotation recommends removing ceiling-mounted light fixtures or fans to check for insulation around the electrical box.
