Generated explanation

A cutaway shows a cylindrical heat pump water heater with a compressor, evaporator coil, fan, air filter, and condensate pan and drain mounted above the storage tank. Arrows indicate warm air entering through the filter and cool air leaving through the fan opening. A condenser coil runs around the tank perimeter, while thick insulation surrounds the tank; an auxiliary electric heating element and sacrificial anode are shown inside. Hot water exits near the top and cold water enters near the bottom through color-coded connections. An annotation describes an alternative top-mounted water-cooled condenser arrangement that circulates tank water through the condenser and back into the tank.
