Generated explanation

The illustration shows a plain-ended cast iron waste pipe barrel and a hubless joint in exterior and cross-sectional views. Two pipe ends are joined by a neoprene gasket surrounded by a stainless steel band, secured with clamps at the top and bottom. The cross section shows the gasket wrapping the pipe ends and separating them at the joint. Notes identify flexible and shielded couplings as other commonly used connectors and list additional pipe materials they can connect.
