Generated explanation

The illustration shows two automatic trap primer designs with enlarged sectional views and installation diagrams beside laundry tubs. The Watts water-saving primer uses a reaction disc lifted by supply flow to send water briefly to the trap, while the Zurn automatic primer uses a piston lifted by water flow. Arrows identify the supply inlet, outlet to the fixture, and downward outlet to the trap. The left installation shows the primer line extending beneath the floor to a floor-drain trap. Notes specify a cold-water connection on a horizontal supply line near a regularly used fixture, at least 12 inches above the trap and accessible for service, and warn against connection to a hot/cold combination faucet.
