Generated explanation

The illustration shows three horizontal sliding window configurations. The left window has two framed glazed sashes, with inside and outside orientations identified and an arrow indicating leftward opening movement. The center window combines a large fixed upper pane with a pair of smaller sliding sash panels below. The right window is a sashless slider, with glass panels sliding directly in tracks rather than in individual sash frames. An enlarged cross section shows the two glass panels seated in separate grooves in the bottom track.
