Generated explanation

The illustration shows an ornate gabled exterior elevation with paired central windows, narrow flanking windows, and a small window in the gable. Callouts identify a muntin dividing individual glass panes and a mullion separating the two central windows. Additional arrows identify a pane of glass, the sash framework holding the glass, and the projecting sill beneath a window. The lower windows have divided upper glazing and single-pane lower glazing. This is a terminology diagram rather than a depiction of installation defects.
