Generated explanation

The illustration shows a partially exposed wood porch floor beside a house entrance, with tongue-and-groove floor boards installed perpendicular to the house for outward drainage. The exposed joists run parallel to the house and span between end supports, with a beam and brick porch columns shown. An annotation identifies the long joist span associated with this floor-board orientation. A makeshift intermediate support has been added beneath the joists after they sagged. The porch roof and its supports are explicitly omitted.
