Generated explanation

The illustration shows roof-edge gutters and downspouts on a house conveying runoff into below-grade drainage pipes. Dashed lines trace the underground pipes from two downspouts to a cylindrical, stone-filled French drain away from the foundation. Arrows around the drain indicate water dispersing into the surrounding ground. A dimension annotation specifies that the French drain should be at least 15 feet away from the house.
