Generated explanation

The illustration shows a vertical section through a window in an insulated, brick-clad wall, with cold conditions outside and warm conditions inside. A slatted window treatment covers the interior side of the glazing. Red arrows illustrate warm indoor air approaching the covering and the cold glass behind it. The annotations explain that blinds and shutters act as insulation, reducing the temperature of the glass behind them and contributing to condensation when warm house air contacts the cold glazing.
