Generated explanation

A gabled dormer projects from a larger shingle-covered roof, with a gutter along the dormer's side eave. The gutter has no end cap at its upslope end and discharges directly onto the main roof beside the dormer. An arrow and blue-highlighted strip indicate water flowing downhill alongside the dormer wall. Annotations identify increased potential for leakage at the dormer edges and localized shingle wear in the runoff path.
