Generated explanation

The cutaway illustrates an exterior wall and floor assembly supported by a wooden mud sill at the perimeter of a crawlspace. Wall framing, wall sheathing, and horizontal siding are shown above the sill, with floor framing and floor sheathing extending inward. The sill is depicted as a large timber seated directly in the soil below outside grade. A dashed inspection circle highlights this ground-contact condition, and an annotation warns that wooden mud sills in some older homes are prone to rot and insect attack and require careful inspection.
