Generated explanation

The illustration shows a room with electric heating wires arranged in a serpentine pattern across the ceiling. A callout explains that the wires are most often embedded in the ceiling, spaced 2 to 8 inches apart, and that areas of the ceiling feel warm after the system has operated for a while. A table and chair demonstrate the shadow effect of radiant heating, with a shaded area beneath the table. The annotation explains that a person's legs under the table may feel slightly cool because the tabletop blocks radiant heat from the ceiling.
