Generated explanation

The cross section shows a radiator beside an outside wall, with foil-coated insulation installed between the radiator and wall. The foil coating faces the radiator to reflect radiant heat back into the room. Wavy arrows depict radiant heat leaving the radiator, while upward arrows indicate convection above and beside it. The annotations explain that room air is heated primarily by convection as cooler air passes over the hot radiator and rises. The radiator stands on the floor above the illustrated floor framing.
