electrodes
blast tube or draft tube (shown clear in this illustration)
primary controller
motor (operates fan and fuel pump)
combustion air fan
fan air inlet
fuel pump
from oil tank
operation:
the fuel pump drives oil through the nozzle where it is turned into a fine mist and ignited by the electrodes
the fan blows air past the nozzle to mix with the fuel before ignition and direct the flame into the refractory area of the furnace or boiler

Generated explanation

The illustration shows an atomizing oil burner with its blast tube drawn transparent to expose the nozzle and ignition electrodes. A fuel pump receives oil from the oil tank and delivers it to the nozzle, where it is atomized into a fine mist and ignited by an electrode spark. A motor operates both the fuel pump and combustion air fan, which draws air through the fan air inlet and blows it past the nozzle to mix with the fuel. The transformer/ignitor and primary controller are mounted above the burner housing. A flame extends from the end of the blast tube; no defects are depicted.
