Generated explanation

A building cross section shows a gas furnace connected to a vertical Type B metal vent that extends through the building and roof to a capped termination. A separate section A-A depicts the vent's double-wall construction, with an aluminum or steel inner wall and a galvanized steel outer wall separated by an air space. The furnace connects to the vertical vent through an offset connector near its base. Annotations identify typical use with natural gas or propane appliances and state that the vent is usually tested up to 500°F. No specific installation defect is identified.
