This cutaway illustration shows a dual-fuel wood/oil forced-air furnace. The cold-air return contains air filters and connects to a compartment containing the blower and motor. The adjacent supply plenum sits above the heat exchanger, with arrows indicating return air entering and supply air leaving the furnace. A firebox door is mounted on the front, an oil burner projects from the side, and a vent connector extends from the upper rear of the unit. No defects or improper installation practices are indicated.
