Generated explanation

A house cross section shows a wood stove and an oil furnace located on the same lower floor and connected to a common chimney flue. Separate vent connectors enter the chimney, with the wood stove connection below the oil furnace connection. The chimney extends above the roof, and ductwork rises from the furnace. The annotation identifies this shared-flue arrangement as permitted in some jurisdictions, provided the appliances are on the same level and the wood connection is below the oil connection.
