Text in the illustration

if an arrow is on the filter/dryer, ensure that it is pointing in the right direction away from the condenser
in some installations, (especially larger units) you will find a filter/dryer in the liquid line
it can be near the condenser, near the expansion device or in the condenser cabinet
filter/dryers are often retrofitted after compressor replacement to remove any remaining contaminants
a filter/dryer typically contains a cotton filter and silica gel as a drying agent

watch for frost accumulation just past the filter/dryer that could indicate a partially plugged unit

Generated explanation

The illustration shows an outdoor air-conditioning condensing unit with a top-mounted fan, side coil grille, and two connected refrigerant lines. A filter/dryer is installed in the smaller liquid line, with refrigerant flow indicated away from the condenser. Airflow arrows show outside air entering the side of the unit and warm air discharging upward. Annotations explain filter/dryer placement, use after compressor replacement, and typical cotton filter and silica gel contents. A callout identifies frost accumulation just past the filter/dryer as a possible sign of partial plugging and instructs that any directional arrow on the filter/dryer must point away from the condenser.
