Generated explanation

This schematic shows a heat pump operating in summer cooling mode, with an indoor furnace blower and plenum coil connected to an outdoor compressor, reversing valve, and coil. Arrows show indoor air moving upward through the plenum coil and outdoor air moving across the outside coil. Low-pressure refrigerant passes through the indoor coil and returns as low-temperature gas through the larger suction line and reversing valve to the compressor. High-temperature, high-pressure gas flows from the compressor through the reversing valve to the outdoor coil, with high-pressure liquid returning to the indoor expansion device. Blue and red piping distinguish the low- and high-temperature portions of the circuit, and the illustrated temperatures are explicitly identified as approximate.
