Generated explanation

A cross section shows a drilled well beside a house extending through soil and impervious rock into water-bearing rock below the water table. A circular enlargement shows the water level, pump intake, and bottom of the well. A vertical double-headed arrow identifies static head as the vertical distance from the water level to the pump intake. The well continues below the intake, distinguishing static head from the full water depth in the well. No defect or improper installation is depicted.
