Generated explanation

The illustration shows a soldered 90-degree supply elbow connecting vertical and horizontal copper pipes. A cutaway at the horizontal connection reveals the overlapping pipe and fitting, with an arrow indicating solder flow into the joint. A torch flame heats the rear of this joint to draw solder into the connection. An annotation states that the joint must first be cleaned and coated with flux for solder to flow and adhere properly. Solder is also identified at the vertical pipe-to-elbow connection.
