Generated explanation

The illustration shows an outside faucet supplied by a pipe passing through a wall. An atmospheric vacuum breaker is installed between the faucet outlet and a hose. The hose extends into a bucket partially filled with water, with its open end submerged below the water surface. The submerged hose end is identified as a potential cross connection; the vacuum breaker provides protection against backsiphonage into the water supply.
