Generated explanation

The illustration shows a cutaway of a flammable vapor ignition resistant (FVIR) gas-fired storage water heater. Hot-water outlet and cold-water supply connections flank the exhaust vent at the top, and an internal dip tube extends toward the bottom of the tank. The lower cutaway exposes the burner and flame arrestor screen, with a gas valve mounted on the exterior. A sealed burner access port and thermal cutoff switch are identified near the base, where an arrow indicates incoming burner air. No defect or improper installation is depicted.
