Generated explanation

The illustration shows a sewage ejector basin below a concrete floor, receiving wastewater through a drain pipe and pumping it up to an elevated main waste line. A submersible pump with a mercury float switch sits inside the basin beneath a sealed cover, with separate vent and discharge pipes passing through the cover. The discharge piping includes unions, a horizontal check valve, and a gate valve before connecting to the main waste line through a wye; an annotation specifies that the wye should be 10 feet away from the stack. Arrows indicate wastewater flow and the float switch's on and off positions. An enlarged pump detail identifies the motor housing, non-clog impeller, pump intake, and discharge pipe.
