Generated explanation

The illustration shows a cross section of a bathtub and tiled shower enclosure against an insulated exterior wall with masonry veneer. Tile backing is shown above the tub, but wall board support is missing behind the bathtub. Insulation and a loose vapor barrier have fallen out of position in this concealed area. A large upward arrow shows moist air entering and rising through the wall cavity, illustrating the moisture-penetration risk. The tub drain connects to a trap and horizontal drain pipe within the floor framing.
