Generated explanation

An exploded cutaway shows flashing at the intersection of a deck and an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) wall. A deck board rests on a header joist, with upper, intermediate, and lower flashings arranged behind and around the deck-to-wall connection. The lower flashing is specified to be set in a bed of sealant. Cutaway EIFS sections above and below the deck expose the insulation board, reinforcing mesh embedded in the base coat, and finish coat. Extra reinforcing mesh wraps the insulation edges at both terminations.
