Generated explanation

A gas water heater is connected to a vertical B-vent by a single-walled vent connector labeled as typically 4 inches in diameter. The connector rises from the heater and turns toward the B-vent near wood framing. Cross-section details indicate a required 1-inch clearance around the B-vent and a required 6-inch clearance around the single-walled connector. The drawing also shows the heater's gas supply, hot and cold water piping, and a side-mounted relief valve with a discharge pipe extending toward the floor.
