Generated explanation

A house cross-section shows a heat recovery ventilator (HRV) located in a gable attic with flexible ducts connected on both sides. Vertical supports suspend the ductwork from the roof framing, and a condensate tray is positioned beneath the HRV. Two ducts extend to openings at the left eave. Arrows show return air moving upward into the HRV through the right-hand duct and air leaving the HRV through a separate duct descending toward the furnace. Although the title references attic insulation, no distinct insulation layer or insulation defect is illustrated.
